demi-pause
2009

±38'

The third piece demi-pause articulates five melodies, which when played simultaneously produce permutations of the same chord.

Throughout 20 one-minute sequences, a process of acceleration of the melodic motives generates a music with a less and less discernible pulse.

From one sequence to the next, the ambitus of the chord decreases by microtones, reaching a near unison in the ultimate sequence.

For the musicians, the attempt for a synchronized pulse appears to be in vain, while the continuity of the sound anamorphosis settles the listener.
